Spritie is a former street dog from Eastern Europe. She's a Romanian shepherd cross.

She came to us as a very timid and insecure girl, suffering from a severe lack of confidence. She was also suffering badly due to a trypsin deficiency. It took us some time to figure out exactly what was going on, but once that happened we put her on a special diet, with lots of supplements including brewer's yeast. She's perfectly fine now, but has to remain on the special diet.

She's a wonderful girl, very boisterous, like a tomboy when she wants to be.  Other times however, she can be sultry and withdrawn.

When she's being affectionate, she comes running over with a lovely smile. She loves to stand up on her hind legs when she gets excited, and does a lovely dance, it's really endearing to watch her.

She is Wolfy's mate and she absolutely adores him... And also keeps him in line, as he can be a bit aggressive with the other dogs. They love roughing and tumbling with each other it's a total delight watching them. They will play for hours if they get the chance, but they never make a sound, so all you hear is their paws on the floor.

She's a very good, fair, and patient pack leader, a very thoughtful girl, always thinking about things, she's fearless and brave - the perfect qualities for a leader. And she's my very special little girl, for she takes everything to heart, and has a very gentle soul.

Finally, for fun, here are all of Spritie's pet names, including her 'Name of Fame', we gave her the name 'Davis', after Bette Davis, since Bette Davis was known for her amazing eyes, and Spritie has lovely, bright 'smiling' eyes. Her 'Classical Spoof' name is "Heifertari", a play on "Nefertari" the name of the Egyptian Queen meaning 'the beautiful one', Spritie has big brown pathces over her skin like a cow and she's very beautiful!
