Angel is a rescue street dog from Eastern Europe, a Siberian husky cross. She has strikingly beautiful eyes – one brown and one blue.

When she came to us she was totally emaciated, literally just skin and bones, she had damaged organs resulting in a trypsin deficiency, and severe digestive issues as a result.

Besides, from being starved, It also seemed to us that she had been abused at some point in some way, as she was extremely cagey about letting anyone touch her near her hind quarters and was suffering from infections too.

She is still wary of being touched near her bottom, and sometimes still suffers from inflamed/infected anal glands, but otherwise has recovered.

Her organ deficiencies require her to be on a special diet permanently, it has also, unfortunately, made her prone to developing acute pancreatitis; I nearly lost her shortly after she first came to us, because of it; it would take me hours to prepare her meals for her - but it was worth it all as she is a perfectly healthy, happy and playful dog now.

She made friends with pretty all the dogs here, but her best buddies were Roly Bear (he sadly died in 2012), Teddy (we tragically lost him too Sep. 2023) are gone. She still has Spritie and Zappy whom she plays with happily, but she’s very sensitive and the deaths of her friends affected her deeply.

She loves sweet things, so we nicknamed her Sweetie! She’s extremely intelligent and can get into anything – including the sweetie jar (if she had fingers she’d play the piano I’m sure). She’s been known to open the larder freezer on hot days and sit in front of it cooling herself! She unlatches the gate, opens the deadbolt, tries to turn the key in the back door with her mouth but her head doesn’t go round far enough!

She also thinks she's absolutely tiny and crawls into the smallest of places - Heavens only knows how! Or how she manages to crawl back out for that matter! So, my sister Sherry ended up calling her Peanut!

She loves treats and thumps her paws on the ground going “Woooo Woooo!”, it’s really cute to watch, she also loves looking up at the night sky – and will literally stay outside just staring at the sky often for hours.

She is a permanent HHH resident, because of these issues, because of her health, and a member of the HHH pack as the second female in command.
